Department of Meteorology issues heat advisory for several regions

The Department of Meteorology states that the heat index—the temperature felt on the human body—is expected to remain at the 'Caution' level in several areas tomorrow, September 14.

According to the department, the warm weather conditions are likely to affect certain locations in the Eastern and North Central Provinces, as well as the Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Monaragala, and Hambantota districts.

However, the Department of Meteorology added that showers or thundershowers are likely to occur at several places across most parts of the island after 1:00 PM tomorrow.
