A woman has made a complaint to Kataragama police saying that Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Chanaka Amil Rangana assaulted her during a religious ceremony at the Kirivehera premises.

Meanwhile an Archaeological project officer who was allegedly assaulted by the Ruwanwella Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman is still receiving treatment at Kegalle Teaching Hospital.
The Project officer was admitted to hospital following an assault by Ruwanwella Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman L.H. Sudath Manjula on last Friday.
