Meanwhile the strike launched yesterday by several health workers attached to the Anuradhapura Hospital including certain doctors and nurses in protest of the incident has been continuing today as well.
Member of the Federation of Health Workers Unions D.M. Suraweera said that the strike will continue until the Health Ministry initiates a proper inquiry into the incident.
Meanwhile GMOA media spokesman Dr. Naveen de Soyza told a media briefing held in Colombo today that his organization would not pose objections for taking legal actions against a person if he has violated country’s law.
However our news team contacted Deputy Health Minister Lalith Dissanayake to comment on the incident.
He urged the health workers to call off the strike as all possible legal measures have already been taken to bring the suspect to book.

Police arrest the doctor accused of installing a camera in a ladies' toilet at Anuradhapura Hospital

Anuradhapura Hospital police arrested today the doctor who is accused of installing a camera in a ladies’ toilet and handed him over to Anuradhapura Police Headquarters for further questioning.
The incident was reported on the 20th of this month, and later the particular doctor was accused of installing the camera in the toilet.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that the suspect would be produced before the Court this afternoon.

When our news team checked whether the routine hospital function is affected due to the strike, a hospital spokesman said that the hospital is functioning as usual despite certain drawbacks.
When our news team contacted the GMOA to comment on the strike, its media spokesman Dr. Naveen de Soyza said that his union has no connection whatsoever to the current strike.
