Tender for reconstruction of Sugathadasa Stadium track cancelled

The appeals board decided to re-call tenders for the reconstruction of the tracks of the Sugathadasa Stadium cancelling the tender that was provided.

The Minister of Sports, Dayasiri Jayasekera stated that the ministry accepts the respective decision.

The tracks of the Sugathadasa stadium which were refurbished for the 2012 Asian Junior Athletic Championship deteriorated in less than a year.

Accordingly, tenders were called for the refurbishing process where a company received the respective tender.

However, considering the complaints received regarding this, a decision was taken to re call for tenders.
