2500 Tons Of Garbage Disposed Off Colombo

The Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government states that measures has been taken to dispose 2500 tons of garbage which was accumulated in the Colombo District after the recent flooding.

The Ministry states the disposed garbage was dumped at Kolonnawa dumping site. Five hundred personals from Army, Police and Civil Defense Forces has been deployed.

By now the following areas Kolonnawa, Meethotamulla, Kotikawatta, Mulleriyawa, Angoda, Gothatuwa, Sedawatta and Wellampitiya have been cleared of garbage.
