It is reported that there is a shortage of certain essential drugs at Cancer Hospital, Maharagama.

Few patients expressing their views to Hiru News said that they were not able to collect medicines from the hospital during the past week and they are inconvenienced as a result of that.

Those drugs are imported by State Pharmaceutical Corporation.

When contacted, the Director of Cancer Hospital, Dr. Wilfred Kumarasinghe said the delay in importing those drugs was caused as a result of New Year holidays and necessary stocks will reach the hospital this week.
