The Department of Meteorology says that the inter-monsoon period will activate in another 4 days.

The Department added that in the next 24 hours showers of 100 to 150 millimeters could occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Southern, and Central province in addition to certain areas in the Kurunegala District.

The Director of the Water Management Division of the Department of Irrigation added that if showers exceeding 100 mm continue over the next week, it is highly likely that floods could occur in several areas.
