PSC probing Easter Sunday attacks requests for a two week extension Australian victims receive compensation.

President Maithripala Sirisena is due to provide evidence to the parliamentary select committee probing easter Sunday attacks on the 20th of this month.

Chairman of the committee deputy speaker Ananda Kumarasiri said that the president has agreed to provide evidence at the presidential secretariat at 10am.

Even though the term of the PSC was scheduled to end on the 23 of last month it was extended until the 30th of September.

However Chairman of the committee deputy speaker Ananda Kumarasiri said that they are hoping to present a proposal to the parliament requesting for a further extension as they are unable to complete the report by September 30th.

Meanwhile the Australian government says that Australian residents who were injured or lost a family member in the Easter Sunday suicide bombings in Sri Lanka can apply to the federal government for compensation.

Its home affairs minister Peter Dutton, said that since suicide bombings have been declared a terrorist act victims may seek a one-off payment of up to 75,000 Australian Dollars.
