A tense situation has occurred in Dimbulagala after three wild elephants entered the area.
Maduru-Oya Forest Rangers stated that there is a school in the vicinity of the area where the elephants are currently at.
A spokesperson for the forest rangers office stated that around 15 officials have been deployed to ward off the animals.
Residents in the area speaking to our news team stated that the elephants had strayed to this area since last night but they have managed to contain them to one area.
Forest rangers are hoping to ward these wild elephants back to the Maduru-Oya Forest Reserve by this evening.
