US should re-imburse Sri Lanka its oil import losses - says Minister Wasu

Today is the 4th day of the committee stage debate of the budget debate. Expenditure heads of Highways, Ports, naval and civil aviation, power and energy, petroleum resources Ministry will be taken for debate today.

Parliament convened today at 9.30 am under the patronage of speaker Chamal Rajapaksa.

Addressing parliament, Minister Vasudewa Nanayakkara stated that as a result of sanctions imposed on Iran by the US, Sri Lanka is unable to import oil from Iran and in turn incurs a huge loss.

Therefore, the Minister reiterated the US need to reimburse the oil import loss to Sri Lanka.
