Election Commission has written to the Attorney General enquiring the legality in holding elections in the local government areas where there are no delimitation issues.

The Election Commission has taken this decision after election monitoring organizations informed the Commissioner that elections could be held for 61 local government institutes as they have no delimitation issues.

Meanwhile, PAFFREL has filed a petition with the Supreme Court requesting an order to hold election in the local government areas where delimitation has been completed.

Accordingly, the petition will be taken for hearing on January 30th next year.
