United National Party provincial councillor Maithree Gunarathne states that there are several issues with the report put together regarding the attack that was carried out on party headquarters Sirikotha.
Speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo today the councillor stated that the opposition leader should give explanations regarding what happened to several previous committee reports that were submitted on several issues.
The report regarding the attack on Sirikotha which was put together by the committee headed by Presiden’ts Counsel Srinath Perera was taken up for discussion at the UNP Central Working Committee meeting yesterday.
A decision was taken at this meeting to submit the report to the disciplinary board.
The report indicated that three groups were involved in the attack on Sirikotha.
It further adds that Maithree Gunarathne, Shiral Lakthilake, Lakshman Abeygunasekara and Lal Perera encouraged their supporters to carry out the attack.
We spoke to UNP Genral Secertary MP Tissa Attanayaka regarding the allegations made by Maithree Gunarathne.
He stated that he is not ready to reply to such baseless allegations and that further measures will be taken based on the working committee discussions.
